The Detroit Pistons are one of the most notorious franchises in the NBA. In the 80s they had the bad boys with Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars and Denis Rodman. With that team they went back to back in 1989 and 1990. Then in 2004 they won another championship with Ben Wallace, and Chauncey Billups. But recently it has not been looking up for the pistons. They have not gotten past the first round in a series since 2008. Due to this bad stat you would think the pistons would do good in the draft however this is also not the case. In 2011 the Pistons chose Brandon Knight which started out good but ended up being a bust, in 2012 they chose Andre Drummond which was a good draft pick, and they also chose Kris Middleton which they ended up trading.
In 2013 they chose Kentavious Kaldwell pope which also turned into a bust, in 2015 they chose Stanley Johnson who claimed he was the next Lebron which also ended up being a bust. In 2016 they chose Henry Ellenson, which once again is also a bust. The Pistons have also selected Luke Kenard and Seka Dumbyia, in the last 2 years which so far look like good draft picks. Overall as you can see by those draft picks The pistons are terrible at drafting. The main issue every year with the pistons is they are bad but not bad enough to get a high draft pick.
